Carolyn has a passionate belief that in an ever changing world, the key to supporting children to flourish and thrive, is to support them to understand their feelings, rather than feeling overwhelmed by them.
With a view that early help and intervention to support children (and families) before they reach crisis or require the diminishing resources of other services, is key to watching children thrive and to become the best that they can be.
With a degree in Behavioural Sciences and a mum of 2 Primary aged children, Carolyn has always had an interest psychology, personal growth, self awareness and has taken many courses to develop this within herself.
As a trained Thrive practitioner in Childhood Years and over 20 years experience of working in the Third Sector in a variety of charities which support both children and adults, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience,
Carolyn has volunteered extensively since the age of 16 with charities which support children, both in one to one mentoring roles as well as group settings. Her experience spans across the age ranges of Primary and Secondary aged children and young people.
Alongside her degree and interest in psychology and personal growth, Carolyn has extensive experience in project development, line management, organising and running training and facilitation seminars as well as developing and devising educational and training programmes.
“The Thrive Approach has really helped children at our school who have not triggered other support. After as short a time as 6 weeks we have seen changes in how they engage and learn and therefore make progress and are now looking to offer this to more children moving forwards.”
“When I needed advice, Butterfly Blue Solutions was there to guide me through every step of the decision-making process. Having tangible evidence and impact has helped when working with other agencies.
“I have liked hanging out and talking about emotions, you don't have to keep feelings in. You can share them and it makes you react differently."
